STOP PRESS: Oriental Bicolours achieved Intermediate Status from 1st June 2008. At the GCCF council meeting on 24th October 2007 the Oriental Bicolours were granted IC status, which means that from 1st June 2008 they will be able to compete for Intermediate Certificates. Each cat will need to win three Intermediate Certificates from three different judges to become one of the qualifiers. We need twenty cats with three IC's each to be able to apply for Championship status. Could anyone who is showing an Oriental Bicolour please: Send their Open Class result, including the judge, show name and date. ALL their miscellaneous and club class results, including the show name and date, class title, judges and the number of cats entered (please do not include cats that are absent on the day and also make sure you have not had any judge changes) If your critique is published: a copy of the critique (a cutting from Our Cats or a note of the issue and page number) To the Hon Secretary of The Oriental Bicolour Group. Web site address below. http://www.palantir.co.uk/oribi1.html We need to have 100 Oriental Bicolours registered with GCCF before we can apply for Championship Status If you are a breeder: Please send details of every Oriental Bicolour that you register with GCCF INCLUDING name, registration number, sex, breed number, date of birth. If possible could you also send a FIVE generation pedigree. To the Hon Secretary of The Oriental Bicolour Group. Web site address below. http://www.palantir.co.uk/oribi1.html
Oriental Bicolours were recognised by GCCF on 22nd February 2006 which meant they can could be shown with GCCF for their Merit certificates. This was the first step to getting them up to full championship status. This is a long road but such a stunning breed is well worth the time and effort that it will take. To see the first 15 cats to gain their 4 Merits please click on Oriental Bicolour Merit Awards
They may also be shown with FIFe where they can already go out and gain titles. With FIFe the pointed version of Bicolours is called a Seychellois.
If you are looking for a Bicolour or Seychellois you should expect to pay the same as you would for a Siamese or an Oriental kitten. For me Bicolours were love at first sight, Thank you my dear friend Klaus, without you, my Bicolour breeding programme would be just a dream.
