Just a youngster, but a highflier at that because I understand I made him up to Grand today. Many congratulations to his very proud owner. I admired him as a small kitten and it is lovely to see him grow into a very handsome and typical adult. Lovely head with excellent top of head and ear flare. Excellent expression to eyes, excellent shape and colour. Profile is not quite straight having both a dip and a bump on his nose, but bite is okay, chin is firm. Long typical adolescent body in true balance with long legs and very good long and tapering tail, excellent neck carriage. Sound dense Black coat, sleek and well textured. He still has a long show career ahead and I am sure his name will be well know.

A handsome young male of excellent type and balance with a wonderful really wicked expression and a charming and relaxed temperament to match. Long muscular body, long fine legs and long fine tail. Large ears of excellent set and flare, even wedge head, straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Oriental eyes of excellent deep green. Long elegant neck. Coat short and close, dense black with a deep shine. Excellent condition and presentation.

Judge: Mrs J Gamble

Such a wicked expression but so gentle and easy to handle. Good overall type and elegance. Medium length head with large well flared ears, straight profile and firm chin. Bright green oriental eyes. Long muscular and elegant body, slender legs and whip tail. Shining jet Black coat, short and smooth. A delightful male.

A handsome elegant young male with excellent type and style. Even wedge with large ears set well apart and flared. Straight profile and good chin. Excellent eyes of oriental shape and set. They were a deep emerald green and he had a wicked expression. Long neck, body, legs and tail. The coat was really short, close-lying and satiny. It was sound, jet black. I had no hesitation at all in awarding the Grand, it was a pleasure and a privilege.

Black, gorgeous lad, super type and expression, just has some maturing to fulfil and should look stunning. Beautifully balanced head, medium length even wedge, very good profile, chin has good depth, level bite. Large widely flared ears, which  complemented his wedge beautifully, excellent set with gutters at the side. Now should anyone be remotely interested in what expression a Black should have, look no further this is it. Superior eye shape and slant, very good depth of green with such a wicked look yet so belied by his extremely gentle temperament. Body as yet still quite small, but as they say beautiful things come in small packages, despite which he is well proportioned, combined with strong muscular hardness to medium length body, slim legs, neat oval paws, balanced by the fine whiptail. Super coat, jet black and incredibly sleek, short and extremely close, sound to the roots, very glossy polished shine. His condition was excellent combined with such a composed and extremely gentle temperament. My only criticism is that I would ideally wish to see him more substantial, otherwise  he is very difficult to fault.

Judge: Mrs J Reed

Quality Oriental Black male, young as yet but full of type and style. Strong wedge with enormous wide at base ears - set with very good width between, oriental eyes of brilliant green, small bump over brow line in profile, chin could be a tad stronger but the bite is level. Elegant length to neck and body - this adolescent but firm, long fine legs with neat paws, long string-like whip - this bony due to fineness of it. Jet black sound and glossy short coat - fits like a glove. Condition of this lad was excellent.

Judge: Mrs L Studer

Just over a year old and every bit a champion - stops you in your tracks. Stunningly handsome lad of excellent overall type. Strong lion-like head, huge wide at the base ears with excellent width and flare, following through the lines of the wedge. Oriental eyes shape and setting of bright sparkling green, strong profile, level bite, good chin. Strong neckline, long well toned body, tall legs and oval paws, tapering tail to balance. Glossy jet-black glistening coat and close lying. Confident chap really enjoying his day out, shown in tiptop condition and presented perfectly. His owner must be very proud of him.

Most handsome youngster of super type. Lovely top and width between large flared ears well open to the base, straight profile, bite okay, firm chin with some depth, well shaped and set eyes of good green with a sparkle of "Black" naughtiness in their expression. Long firm tubular body of elegance, he is muscling up very nicely since we last met. Slender limbs, neat paws and good length of tapering tail to balance. Excellent short totally sound coat of glossy jet black fine textured and lying close to the body. Very relaxed and wonderful to handle and I was delighted to award a prestigious Grand. Well done on your Best in Show.

Judge: Mrs J Tonkinson

Two super young cats in this class, it was a pity there could only be one winner.                                                   Very impressive Black boy who I last saw as a kitten. Excellent type with strong masculine wedge and large flared ears. Oriental set green eyes, firm chin and level bite. Long elegant neck and body with dense black coat short close lying and glossy. Stands well on long slender legs and neat paws, long whip tail to balance. He just still managed to look a fraction innocent today at just 9 months.

Judge: Mrs J Starr

Stylish and handsome Oriental Black youngster of very good type. Even wedge head with strong profile and firm chin. Eyes of bright green, just a little full in shape. Well set large ears. Long strong body, legs and tail to balance. Close and shiny coat of dense black, sound to the roots. Super young male !

A kitten of lovely type and style - had a head banging experience on his travels here as was obvious by the bump on his profile - when I saw him later in the day it was even more swollen, I hope he has fully recovered. Strong wedge with enormous wide set ears giving lovely top line, super eye shape and set of brilliant green, profile ruined somewhat by the protruding lump but with excellent deep chin and straight lower half of his profile!  Level bite. Long elegant neckline and firm well developed body, long fine whip tail with slender length of legs and oval paws. Coat of dense shining black - good to see, just a tad long but first class texture.

Very handsome young Black boy of lovely overall type. Long yet well balanced wedge with huge ears well set and nice wide top. Oriental set deep green eyes, strong masculine profile for one so young, good chin and bite. He just had a bump on his nose which did not appear to be part of the bone structure and was obviously tender to touch and was apparently a self inflicted injury on the pen at the show. It just detracted from his overall look at the time. Long elegant neck and dense black coat in super condition, stands well on long legs and neat paws, lovely long whip tail. He had a purr that went right down to his toes.

Judge: Mrs B Harrison

By far the best kitten in class, but as the Vet said that in her opinion the lump on profile was in the bone structure he was placed third, later in the day I learnt that he had damaged his profile that morning. I hope he is back to normal by now.
